Confederate:

North Carolina
1861.

First National Flag: "Stars & Bars"
March 1861. There were a number of variations, in terms of the number of stars.

Second National Flag: "Stainless Banner"
May 1863.

Third National Flag
March 1865.

Battle Flag and Naval Jack.
There were many variations using this basic design with a St. Andrews Cross. Moreover, Confederate forces in the Western Theatre initially carried blue flags with white circles in the middle, among other variations.

Union:

United States Flag: 33-Star
1859-1861. A 33rd star was added when Oregon was admitted to the Union in 1859.

United States Flag: 34-Star
1861-1863. A 34th star was added when Kansas was admitted to the Union in 1861.

United States Flag: 35-Star
1863-1865. A 35th star was added when West Virginia was admitted to the Union in 1863.
